LinkShare Symposium West 2012

On January 6 – 8th our team traveled to San Francisco for the LinkShare Symposium West.  It was a great experience to learn about new industry trends and meet with many new and existing partners.

On the first day, we attended an all day class covering many different topics on how to effectively use all of the tools LinkShare has to offer and ways to enhance our program.  On the second day, we listened to many wonderful speakers, attended a few more sessions and in the afternoon we set up a table for the “Dealmaker” event.  This is an event where publishers had a chance to visit many different advertisers and learn about their affiliate programs all in the same location.

Throughout the symposium, one of my favorite speeches was given by Hiroshi Mikitani, Rakuten’s CEO.  He started Rakuten, which ranks amongst the top 10 Internet companies in the world, and it was very interesting to learn about the beginning years of the company.  The other speakers for the event were, Yaz Iida, President and CEO of LinkShare, Andy Hoar, Senior Analyst at Forrester, and Bridget Brennan, CEO of the Female Factor.

During the symposium, our schedule was full with meetings and informative sessions but we still made time to see the city and have a little fun!

We also made time to stop by the Ghirardelli Square!

Have a wonderful weekend!
